North Las Vegas, NV – One of Nevada’s longest-running local casinos, Poker Palace Casino, will close permanently on October 1, 2025, marking the end of a 51-year run in the state’s gambling industry.
Located at 2757 N. Las Vegas Boulevard, near Nellis Air Force Base, Poker Palace has been a staple of the community since it opened in 1974. But the property’s roots stretch even further back. Before becoming a casino, the building was Bunny’s Bar, established in 1951, making the site a true part of local history.
Though not as massive as some of its North Las Vegas counterparts, Poker Palace earned a loyal following thanks to its welcoming atmosphere, local charm, and affordable gaming options.
The decision to close comes amid economic pressures that have made the current business model unsustainable. In total, 126 employees will be affected by the shutdown, including:
- 10 poker dealers
- 10 security officers
- 10 porters
The casino’s 25,900-square-meter gaming floor, once bustling with activity, will also shut down.
At this time, there’s no confirmed plan for redevelopment or sale of the property. Employees have been notified, and management is reportedly working to provide support where possible during the transition.
The closure of Poker Palace signals more than the loss of a casino—it’s the end of an era in North Las Vegas. For many, it wasn’t just a place to gamble, but a community hub with decades of memories.
